Roping text messages
Some ropings that run on ScoreLine text contestants their draw and their run times. This page explains who sends those texts, how you sign up, and how to stop them.
Who sends them
The texts come from the producer or arena running the roping you entered. They send them with the ScoreLine software, built by Scoreline Industries. The producer's name is on the entry form where you signed up.
What you'll get
- Your team, round and spot in the run order when a round is drawn, and an updated message if the draw changes.
- Your time after each run.
These texts are only about the ropings you entered. They are never advertising.
ScoreLine: Saturday #11 Jackpot, Round 2 draw: run 7 heeling with Cody Ellis. Spots move if a team ahead is rolled. Reply STOP to stop texts.
ScoreLine: Saturday #11 Jackpot, Round 2 run 7 with Cody Ellis: 7.42.
How you sign up
You opt in on the roping's entry form, on paper or at the entry table, by giving your mobile number and checking the text-message box. The box reads:
"I want text messages from the producer named above about my draw and run times for this roping, sent through ScoreLine. Message frequency varies, usually 2 to 10 messages per roping. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms: scorelinetimer.com/texts"
Texts are optional. You don't have to sign up for them to enter a roping, and you can still see your draw and times at the arena.
How often
It depends on how many rounds and runs you have. Most ropers get between 2 and 10 messages per roping.
How to stop them
Reply STOP to any message. You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and no more texts after that. You can also tell the producer at the entry table. Reply START to sign up again.
Help
Reply HELP to any message, ask the producer of your roping, or email info@scorelinetimer.com.
Costs
The texts are free from the producer and from ScoreLine. Message and data rates from your phone carrier may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number
Your mobile number is used only to send you texts about the ropings you entered. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never sold, rented or shared with anyone for marketing. See the privacy policy.
